West Ham United has made a renewed bid of £30 million to secure the services of Harry Maguire from Manchester United, according to sources at talkSPORT.
Maguire’s future with the Red Devils has been increasingly uncertain four years after his record-breaking £80 million transfer from Leicester.
Following a season with only eight Premier League starts, Maguire lost his club captaincy to Bruno Fernandes in July.
Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez are now the preferred center-back pairing, even seeing left-back Luke Shaw play ahead of Maguire.
West Ham, aiming to sign the English international, has resubmitted their bid after their initial £20 million offer was rejected last month. It remains unclear if this latest bid has been accepted by Erik ten Hag’s side.
Should the transfer go through, Maguire will leave Old Trafford after making 175 appearances in all competitions. West Ham, who won the Europa Conference League but finished 14th in the Premier League last season, are yet to make a senior signing this summer.
The Hammers also have their sights set on Scott McTominay, Maguire’s Manchester United teammate. They have reportedly agreed to a £34 million fee with Ajax for Edson Alvarez and are interested in Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun. This renewed bid for Maguire could mark the club’s next significant signing.
