Troops from the Forward Operating Base Molai, working with the Civilian Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, have rescued a Boko Haram terrorist’s family.
The development occurred when combined security operatives prepared an ambush at the terrorists’ logistical crossing point along the Yuwe Road, Komala, in Bama LGA, Borno State.
Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency specialist and security analyst in Lake Chad, made the announcement in a post on his X account on Friday.
Makama claimed an intelligence source informed him that the army encountered the terrorists during a counter-offensive patrol in Yuwe, resulting in a violent fire duel.
According to him, the military destroyed the Boko Haram militants, while others apparently escaped in disorder, leaving behind their family belongings and weaponry.
He further said that the rescued individuals comprised of a mother, Aisha Usman, and her three daughters: Hauwa, Binta, and Amina.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that Aisha Usman was forcefully abducted when Boko Haram invaded her home in HANTSA village in Gulak district Madagali LGA of Adamawa State in 2014.
“She was moved to Njimiya camp of the Boko Haram in Sambisa Forest where she was forcefully married to one of the terrorists with three children.
“The rescued family were also taken to the military custody for profiling and further necessary action,” Makama added.
