In the wake of the end of the bad governance protest, which began on August 1st, award-winning Afrobeat singer Yemi Alade has weighed in.

Alade took to her Instagram page to promote a song from her new album, *Rebel Queen*, which calls for peace and love in Africa. In her caption, she emphasized that everyone deserves better living standards and access to basic amenities such as food, water, and electricity.

Dem-don-cråzy or Democracy? We all deserve better standards of living and the means to afford basic amenities of life. Food, Water, Electricity, etc.”

Her post garnered numerous reactions from her fans:

– @Sopheeya_music: “Timeless music”
– @OfficialYungbobbi: “Unity vibes”
-@Seyi____the_plamoil_seller: “It’s well. Life too hard”
– @UdohChris1: “U were supposed to lead the protests to show an example to other celebrities as a freedom fighter who want a better Nigeria”

Big Brother Naija Level Up winner Phyna also called for an end to bad governance. She stated her support for a new, better, and greater Nigeria, joining hands with fellow citizens to push for the betterment of the country. Phyna declared her identity as a proud Nigerian and not an enslaved person, even singing the former National Anthem in solidarity.

In contrast, some celebrities have voiced their opposition to the protest. Actor Lege Miami admonished youths in Lagos to step back from the protest, appealing for patience to give the President a chance to fix the country. He acknowledged the high cost of living but expressed belief in the President’s ability to bring about change.

Actress Tonto Dikeh addressed Nigerians in a letter, expressing understanding of their frustration and concerns. However, she suggested that the protest might not be the most effective method. Instead, she proposed establishing a representative group to meet with the President and advocate on behalf of the citizens.
