The Zamfara State Government swore never to bargain with bandits or other criminal groups. Alhaji Abubakar Nakwada, the Zamfara SSG (Secretary to the State Government), told newsmen in Gusau on Tuesday.
He claims that the current government has no intention of conversing with any bandit leader or their representative in the sake of a peace agreement that has never succeeded.
However, he reiterated the state government’s determination to fight the bandits and their supporters until their defeat persistently.
The Zamfara SSG said that the state government would rigorously collaborate with security organisations to ensure that the war against insecurity reached the bandits’ front doors.
According to him, the Mohammed Bello Matawalle-led administration, in which they succeeded, squandered numerous billions of naira. These funds were spent on ineffective projects that had nothing to do with the welfare of the general populace.
“Matawalle’s administration had spent over N10bn on purchasing utility vehicles and there is no proper record to back up the claim. Some of the vehicles were shared among cronies and our administration would do everything humanly possible to recover the said vehicles,” he stated.
He urged citizens to support the government’s policies and programs. Furthermore, he announced the revocation of all land allocations not made in the public interest.
He stated that the current government has designed its policies and activities to reduce or alleviate the suffering of the general populace.
