Prince Dapo Abiodun, the governor of Ogun State, has taken the oath of office for a second term. At 11:10 a.m. today, Mosunmola Dipeolu, the Chief Justice of Ogun State, administered the oath of office to Abiodun.
At an earlier ceremony, they conducted the Deputy Governor, Noimot Salako-Oyedele’s swearing-in at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Kuto, Abeokuta.
Gov. Dapo Abiodun’s 63rd birthday falls on the day of the swearing-in event.
The businessman from Iperu named Abiodun won the March 18 gubernatorial election in Ogun by defeating Ladi Adebutu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by more than 13,000 votes.
Since then, Adebutu has brought Abiodun and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the election tribunal to contest the election results.
