The body of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, has been excavated by the Lagos State Police Command.
After the exhumation, the Lagos State Police Command claimed an autopsy will be performed.
Mohbad’s death last Tuesday sparked worry, with an accusing finger thrown by the Marlian Record Label’s owner, Afeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley.
In addition, there have been claims and counter-allegations from his distant relatives over his estate in the early days following his death.
Nigerians questioned why he was buried at Ikorodu in Lagos the day after he died, but his father said that it was a family Yoruba ritual.
Nigerian youths have organised peaceful rallies to seek justice for him.
Both Nigeria police and the Lagos police command have promised to investigate his death, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has requested that the Department of State Service (DSS) join the inquiry.
Meanwhile, Lagos police spokesperson Ben Hundeyin said on Thursday morning that Mohbad’s body had been unearthed. He stated that an autopsy will be performed.
Hundeying announced this on X, stating, “Exhumation completed. Autopsy to commence.”
