The Nigerian Troop on Thursday rescued four undergraduate students from Nasarawa State University, Keffi, who had been kidnapped from their dormitories on Tuesday.
The undergraduates were kidnapped in the early hours of Tuesday by armed men who invaded their residence in Angwan Kaare, Keffi Local Government Area, and carried them away to an unknown destination.
After a persistent strain on the kidnappers, they were liberated on Thursday by personnel from the Nigerian Army’s 117 Battalion, Keffi.
Lt. Col. Auwalu Inuwa, the battalion’s commanding officer, confirmed this to our correspondent in Lafia.
He stated that the pupils were recovered in the surrounding woodlands of Angwan Gauta in Keffi LGA after the military officers worked tirelessly.
According to him, the names of the rescued pupils are Rahila Hanya, Josephine Gershon, Rosemary Samuel, and Goodness Samuel.
He stated that following thorough medical tests, the students will be reunited with their families.
