Kano: NNPP denies deal with APC over appeal at S’Court

The New Nigeria Peoples Party has denied rumours that it has reached an agreement with the ruling All Progressives Congress over its Supreme Court appeal.

Ladipo Johnson, the party’s National Auditor, revealed this in a phone call with our correspondent on Saturday, saying that while it was impossible to prevent individuals from spreading misinformation, the assertion was incorrect.

The APC’s Kano State chapter has likewise rejected any agreement with the NNPP.

According to the state Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, the claimed contract is a fabrication.

Governor Abba Yusuf has filed an appeal with the Supreme Court in response to the Court of Appeal’s decision to uphold the State Election Petitions Tribunal’s decision to annul his win in the state’s governorship election on March 18.

Johnson, on the other hand, stated:

“What you hear are street talks and you can’t stop street talks from happening.

“I am not sure any senior officer in the party will tell you that is necessary. We are trying to win in court and Abba Kabir Yusuf will continue to deliver good services to the people of Kano.”
