Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State, has approved the creation of the Farmers-Herders Board.
In addition, the governor signed five more legislation into law.
During the signing ceremony, which was attended by members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Governor Mohammed emphasised the relevance of the Farmer-Herdsman Board in averting conflicts and improving security by replicating successful models from states such as Jigawa.

Mohammed also signed the Access to Basic Education Act into law, which is intended to boost school attendance.
He also signed the bills repealing the Sa’adu Zungur University Law 2022, reenacting the Bauchi State Establishment Law 2010, and repealing the Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency Law 2012.
The other bills that were signed are the Rural Access Road Authority 2024 and the Border Communities Development Agency Act.
According to the governor, the new legislation aims to address concerns such as school enrollment with the Access to Basic Education Bill, rural infrastructure with the Rural Access Road Authority 2024, and border community development with the Border Communities Development Agency.
