The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCT) has announced a change in the schedule for the start of commercial operations of the Abuja Rail Mass Transit System, commonly known as the Abuja Light Rail.
According to a statement signed by FCT Director of Press Tony Ogunleye, it will now be launched on Democracy Day, Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“The flag-off ceremony (of the rail) was earlier scheduled for Monday, 27th of May, 2024.
“This flag-off of the commencement of commercial operations is part of celebrations marking the first year anniversary of the administration of President Bola Tinubu,” it read.
