Nollywood actress and mental health advocate Chacha Eke Faani has shared a profound message on healing, emphasizing that it doesn’t mean the damage never existed but rather that it no longer controls your life.
Posting a heartfelt video of herself and her eldest daughter on Instagram, she wrote,
Healing doesn’t mean the damage never existed. It means the damage no longer controls our lives.”
Her message resonated with many, prompting supportive comments from her followers. One Vivian Godwin43 prayed,
May healing locate any bleeding soul out there. Amen.” Other encouraging responses included:
– Joy Helen: “God is with you always.”
– Linda John:“May this healing remain permanent.”
– Tall Star Girl:“And once you get to that point in your life, you have won.”
– Ada Woguby: “Healing is done and dusted because you’re Onye Nmeri, yes a conqueror through Christ who strengthens you.”
Recently, Chacha Eke also reconciled with her mother, a year after detailing her mental struggles involving her. Reflecting on her relationship, she shared the pain of being distant from her mother and prayed for those experiencing similar mental and spiritual battles.
In June 2023, Chacha openly discussed how her mental health issues, specifically bipolar disorder, affected her view of her mother. Misguided by false information from various sources, she harbored unwarranted resentment and hatred. As part of her advocacy, she recounted her destructive manic episodes, including an incident at Rit Hotel in Enugu where she caused significant damage and was later hospitalized and diagnosed.
Chacha’s journey has made her a vocal advocate for mental health, sharing her experiences to raise awareness and support others facing similar challenges.
