Brigadier General Yushau Dogara Ahmed, Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has directed corps members to refrain from broadcasting orientation camp events on social media.

This comes as General Ahmed has warned that if such a corps member is detected disobeying the norm, he will be decamping.

The warning was made by the NYSC head while addressing corps members posted to Osun State for the Batch B Stream I national service at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Ede on Friday.

In his words:

“It is an offence to carry activities of the camp and post on social media. The penalty is that such corps members will be decamped.

“Respect other people’s opinions and thoughts, cultures, values and norms of the communities where you are deployed to serve.”

General Ahmed, who strongly opposed redeployment and relocation of serving corps members, recommended they to stay where they are and carve out a career for themselves.

He also warned corps members not to travel too frequently.

He said:

“Obtain permission before you travel and don’t travel by night.

“Once it is 6 pm, break your joinery and continue the following day.

“Never joke with your security. Always abide by the advice of the camp officials. NYSC will never post you to unsafe places and don’t put yourselves in unnecessary danger.

“You must listen and guard yourself against danger because your parents have invested heavily in you.

“Stay safe and do everything to remain safe.”
