Nigerian singer and one-half of the famous music group Psquare, Peter Okoye, has made his first statement amid his ongoing beef with his twin brother, Paul Okoye.
Taking to his Instagram page, Peter, who has been maintaining a low profile for months, shared a photo of himself on stage with a message to his fans. Addressing himself as Mr P, his solo stage name, he noted how people say diamonds are forever as he appealed to his fans to be patient.
It seems like the singer has a new solo music or album coming soon for his fans.
Diamonds, dey say, are forever. Dear Mr P’s fans, pls be patient,” he wrote, hinting at an upcoming solo project.
In June last year, controversial blogger Stella Dimokokorkus alleged that there was a brewing war between the Psquare brothers and their elder brother, Jude Okoye, over joint funds allegedly diverted by Jude. She claimed that an insider revealed a company wanted to acquire the Psquare music catalogue, which led to the unveiling of various financial secrets. The EFCC was reportedly involved, and Jude Okoye was detained.
Last month, Instagram blogger Cutie Juls alleged that Paul and Jude had been arrested by the commission. Paul confirmed this on Instagram, celebrating his clearance from the EFCC. He clarified that he made his money through good music and announced a return to making music, promising new releases.
In a recent interview, Paul recounted how Peter got him and Jude arrested by the EFCC in December 2023. After a thorough investigation, Paul was declared innocent of all allegations. He also confirmed that it was Peter who had Jude arrested.
The rift between the Okoye brothers continues to unfold, but fans are eagerly anticipating Peter’s upcoming solo project, hoping for a new chapter in his music career.
