The Labour Party’s factional leadership, led by Julius Abure, has announced that all of its tickets for the 2027 general election are accessible to eligible Nigerians.
Abure made the statement during a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja on Monday.
“NEC in session also reviewed the decision of the National Convention to reserve its Presidential and Governorship tickets for Peter Gregory Obi and Alex Otti respectively,” a document that went viral.
“Consequently, all tickets of the party from the Presidency to the House of Assemblies are open to all qualified Nigerians,” Abure stated.
Abure’s statement comes amid the controversy surrounding the recent stakeholders meeting organized by Abia State Governor Alex Otti and 2023 presidential contender Peter Obi, during which former Minister of Finance Nenadi Usman was named temporary chairperson of the party.
