Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh marked Father’s Day in her signature style by celebrating her dual role as both mother and father to her son, King Andre. As she honoured herself, the day also reignited the ongoing feud with her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, who notably excluded their son from his Father’s Day tribute.
Taking to Instagram, Tonto Dikeh shared photos of herself enjoying life and celebrated her dedication as a parent. She wished herself and other fathers a happy Father’s Day while emphasizing her role as both “Mama and Papa.”
Her post read:
“HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ME AND ALL THE AMAZING DADS AROUND THE WORLD.
MAMADE’PAPA KINGTONTO.”
Fans flooded her comment section with praises, applauding her for her strength and resilience:
-
“You will live long to enjoy all you’ve laboured for,” one fan commented.
-
“A king for a reason. Your efforts will never be wasted. Amen,” another added.
Meanwhile, Tonto’s ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, marked the occasion by sharing a video tribute featuring his three other children—his first daughter and his two children with wife Rosy Meurer. Notably absent from the tribute was King Andre, his son with Tonto.
In his caption, Churchill declared himself the “Father of the Year” and encouraged his followers to dream big.The Father’s Day posts brought back memories of their bitter custody battle and accusations.
Last year, Tonto accused Churchill of being a deadbeat father who only acknowledged their son on his birthday. She asserted that Churchill falsely claimed to have won custody of their child but left the responsibility to her.
In response, Churchill released an audio conversation between Tonto and her ex-boyfriend, Kpokpogri, where Tonto allegedly vowed to block Churchill’s access to their son. He also shared claims of Tonto rejecting gifts he sent for their son, with threats to destroy them.
Despite the ongoing public drama, Tonto Dikeh continues to embrace her journey as a single parent. Her annual Father’s Day celebration of herself is a reflection of her unwavering commitment to her son.
