Adamawa State Government approved the amount N2,937,217,120.45 for the renovation of Yola Town Market in the Yola South Local Government Area.

The Yola Town market, which was damaged by fire around five months ago, is the primary market in the Adamawa Emirate area of Yola Town.

The new Yola Town market, which will include 69 contemporary stores, is expected to be finished within the next nine months.

Dr. John Dabari, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, announced the N2.9 billion approved funds to the media on Tuesday evening, shortly after a meeting of the State Executive Council, or SEC, headed over by Deputy Governor Kaletapwa Farauta.

According to John Dabari, the new market will be created using current architectural materials and is intended to prevent the occurrence of fires.

He stated that the government’s intention to restore the market is to facilitate the return of full commercial activity, which provides a source of income for traders.
