Nigerian actress Bella Okagbue has recently opened up about the distress she faces due to constant body and voice shaming. The situation escalated when a video of Bella singing with her boyfriend, Sheggz, was shared on Twitter with a caption seemingly mocking her voice.
In response, Bella sent a heartfelt message to the user expressing her hurt and frustration. In the message, she cursed the user’s future child to suffer from speech impairments. Bella emphasized that despite the criticism, she is somebody’s daughter and appreciates her unique voice.
Publicly sharing her sentiments, Bella expressed exhaustion from enduring constant ridicule, including body shaming and accent criticism. She asserted her identity as a Nigerian and called for an end to the relentless shaming she faces.
