Job Description
Genesis is rapidly expanding its operations and seeks to appoint a senior consultant with a strong track record of winning work and experience in the design of financial instruments that support development outcomes across the sectors in which we work – MSME development, education and health infrastructure, last mile digital access.
Responsibilities
- Design of blended financing solutions at the interface between the public and private sector
- Design of special purpose vehicles / funds for development activities. This includes fund structuring, fund management structuring, governance structuring, design of policies, procedures and guidelines as well as instruments (grants, guarantees, LoCs etc), and investment strategies.
- Credit risk assessment of investment funds, and lending vehicles
- Advisory related to lines of credit – advisory to banks on how to secure lines of credit, work for DFIs on identifying, assessing and disbursing to lending partners
- Design of de-risking instruments such as guarantees and insurance products (technical design and implementation, beyond theoretical considerations)
Qualification
- Blended finance principles and experience in development of solutions
- Financial modelling
- Credit risk modelling, assessment and management
- Skill in advising banks and working with Development Financial Institutions (DFIs) on securing lines of credit for development projects
- Technical proficiency in designing and implementing de-risking instruments
- Network in the market and experience in building partnerships with various stakeholders in the funding ecosystem
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to engage with banks, donors, investors, and other stakeholders
- Effective project management skills to oversee and coordinate various aspects of development projects and financing initiatives
