The former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, has been granted bail to the tune of N300 million by an Abuja High Court in Maitama.

In a judgement read by Justice Hamza Muazu, the court mandated that the former head of CBN present two sureties, both of whom had to be residents of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, and hold landed property in the Maitama District.

The complete hearing on the six counts the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC filed against the defendant was scheduled to begin on November 28.

Emefiele was also ordered by the court to turn up all of his travelling documents.
