Linda Yaccarino, former head of advertising at NBCUniversal, will become Twitter’s new CEO. Twitter’s current CEO, Elon Musk, said in a tweet. Musk proudly tweeted-
“I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!”.
Musk’s Tweet on Friday, emphasizes that-
“@LindaYacc will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology.”
Yaccarino previously worked at Comcast Corp’s entertainment and media division to modernize its advertising business. She was in talks to join the company before NBC announced her resignation on Friday morning.
Twitter’s “trajectory will immediately take a 180-degree turn” under Yaccarino’s leadership, said Lou Paskalis, a longtime ad industry executive and CEO of AJL Advisory, a marketing consultancy.
“I think [Yaccarino] has climbed every mountain she could at NBCU and did it impeccably well, and there’s no greater challenge than restoring order at Twitter,” he said.
