In a significant blow to terrorist elements, troops of Operation Hadin Kai, supported by air power and local security outfits, have neutralised scores of insurgents in a series of coordinated operations across Nigeria’s North-East region.

The successful missions, which resulted in the death of over twenty terrorists, targeted a wide range of locations, including the general areas of Gujba, Gubio, and several key localities within the Chibok, Konduga, Magumeri, and Mafa Local Government Areas.

According to a statement from Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the Media Information Officer for the Joint Task Force, the operations were comprehensive and highly effective.

Beyond the significant number of insurgents eliminated, the troops also achieved critical successes in disrupting the terrorists’ logistics network. Several individuals suspected of being logistics suppliers and collaborators for the terrorist groups were apprehended during the missions.

The recovered items from these operations underscore a major disruption to the insurgents’ capabilities. Troops seized multiple AK-47 rifles, rocket-propelled grenade tubes and bombs, a large cache of 7.62mm ammunition, and various other logistics supplies.

In a crucial preventative measure, forces safely detonated several Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and intercepted a major component used in their manufacture: 242 bags of NPK fertilizer, which was believed to be en route to the terrorists.

The military high command has commended the troops for their determination and dexterity in these operations, assuring them of continued and unwavering support to sustain the momentum in the ongoing fight against insurgency and to restore lasting security to the region.
