She was a four-year letterman at Western Carolina and played professional basketball in the United Kingdom and for the Senior Nigerian National Team. Wakama graduated from Western Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation in 2014 and from Manhattan with an MBA in 2019.
She is a Rivers native from Nigeria.
Wakama’s immediate goal would be to prepare the three-time defending champions for the forthcoming twelve-nation 2023 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket tournament, which will be held in Kigali, Rwanda, from July 28 to August 6.
