On Tuesday, Francis Nwifuru, the governor of Ebonyi State, issued an order to freeze the state government accounts held by several banks, effective as of that day. Additionally, Dr. Monday, Uzor was named the governor’s Chief Press Secretary and took office Monday.
Uzor previously worked as his CPS for Dr. Kelechi Igwe, the state’s immediate-past deputy governor.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Uzor announced the governor’s selections.
According to the report,
“The Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, has directed the immediate freezing of all state government accounts domiciled in various banks with effect from Tuesday, May 30, 2023.
“Consequently the governor directs the managers of all the banks that operate government accounts to immediately comply by ensuring that no payment is made from any government accounts till further notice.”
