Former president Donald Trump has been indicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. The indictment comes after a grand jury investigation. The investigation had to do with the payment of $130,000 to Stormy Daniels. The money is allegedly hush money to keep quiet about their alleged sexual encounter in the run-up to the 2016 election. Despite pleading not guilty to the charges, Trump faces the possibility of imprisonment if found guilty.

In an interview with Piers Morgan on Fox Nations, Daniels expressed her belief that Trump should be charged with other felonies. However, he should not be charged for the crimes involving her. Daniels claimed that testifying in an internationally-aired trial was daunting. However, she also has nothing to hide and looked forward to it.

Trump has labelled the allegations and indictment politically motivated and a “witch hunt” created by his Democratic opponents. However, he is now the first former president to face criminal charges.

The news of the indictment comes as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals awarded almost $122,000 to Trump in attorney fees. Daniels brought a failed defamation suit against Trump in 2018 but remained outspoken. Furthermore, Trump’s arrest was met with a vulgar tweet from Daniels. Her tweet gloated over not being “under arrest.
