Glendale, a city in Arizona, is preparing for Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” with an unconventional move. According to reports, the city will temporarily change its name in honour of the pop star, who is set to kick off her concerts at the State Farm Arena next week.
The city’s mayor, Jerry Weiers, is expected to make the announcement on Monday, March 13, and the name change will be in effect during Swift’s concert dates on March 17 and 18.
In addition to the name change, the mayor is expected to share information on the best places for fans to continue the festivities after the concerts. The city’s statement also reads,
There is no need to calm down, we’re fearless and doing something highly unusual to celebrate the fact that Taylor’s concerts start right here!”
