Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has announced the appointment of puff-puff seller, Ms. Oluwatosin Adejumo, as a chef in the State Government House in Osogbo.
The governor made the announcement through his official social media account, celebrating Adejumo’s new role as a transformation from “puff-puff seller turned Government House chef.”
The life-changing opportunity arose during a recent labour rally in the state capital, where organised labour groups expressed their support for Governor Adeleke’s administration and his bid for a second term.
It was at this event that the governor encountered Adejumo and was impressed by her dedication. He explained that the appointment fulfills a promise made to her after their meeting.
Governor Adeleke detailed that beyond the employment offer, he has also granted Adejumo a full scholarship to pursue her education up to the Master’s degree level, should she choose to further her studies.
He described her story as a powerful testament that hard work and dedication are always recognised and rewarded. The governor reiterated that his administration remains dedicated to identifying and uplifting excellence wherever it is found, regardless of an individual’s current circumstances.
A video from the initial encounter, shared by Governor Adeleke’s office, showed him purchasing Adejumo’s entire tray of puff-puff for the sum of fifty thousand naira. He is then seen instructing his aides to collect her contact information.
The footage also captures a brief conversation where Adejumo, who holds a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) and has professional catering training, discussed her background, which ultimately paved the way for her remarkable appointment.
