Kano Police Command Intercept 820 Cartons of Expired Drugs

The Kano Police Command seized 820 cartons of suspected counterfeit and expired pharmaceuticals at Mallam Kato Market in the state’s Fagge Local Government Area.

This was said by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna, in a statement.

He stated that the intercepted pharmaceuticals included 514 cartons of eemistxmin/emstifer syrup, 219 cartons of 5mg Lisinopril tablets, 7 cartons of 5mg amlodipine tablets, 87 cartons of 50mg atenol and 40 cartons, 3 cartons of Frusemide injection.

According to the statement, the narcotics were turned over to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control by a team of investigators led by the state Commissioner of Police, Usaini Gumel, who had been dispatched to the location.

The statement also urged citizens to constantly report unusual movements and anyone of questionable character to the authorities.
