The appeal against the Nasarawa state gubernatorial election will be heard by the Supreme Court, on Tuesday.
On the cause list of the highest court, the Nasarawa appeal is scheduled for Tuesday.
Among the cases expected in the Supreme Court is the appeal of the state governorship.
The Peoples Democratic Party’s David Ombugadu was proclaimed the victor of the March 18, 2023 election by the tribunal, which dismissed Abdullahi Sule, the governor.
After weighing the evidence presented to the panel, the tribunal, presided over by Ezekiel Ajayi, divided its verdict two to one, finding that the PDP candidate had proven his allegation that Sule had benefited from fraudulent vote results.
However, the appellate court upheld Sule’s reinstatement, declaring that the tribunal had erroneously depended on the testimony of eight PDP witnesses, whose sworn declarations had not been front-loaded with the petition.
However, Ombugadu appealed the ruling to the highest court.
