The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, has removed billionaire businessman Ayiri Emami as the Ologbotsere of his kingdom. This comes after Ayiri strongly opposed Olu’s coronation in August 2021. The opposition resulted in his disrobing and banishment from the palace.
However, two weeks ago, the monarch visited one of his communities. He proceeded to initiate peace moves with Ayiri through the help of clergyman Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor and others. The king met with Emami last Friday, April 14, and during a meeting held today, he asked Ayiri to accept his late father’s title going forward. Ayiri refused to accept the offer, leading to the monarch thanking him for all he had done for the Itsekiri kingdom and asking him to leave his Palace.
Following his exit, the Olu immediately installed a new Ologbotsere of the kingdom, Chief Oma Eyewuoma. The event was captured in a series of clips from the palace.
