In a heart-wrenching revelation, Nigerian music sensation Patoranking has expressed profound sorrow over the untimely demise of his junior colleague, Ileriouluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, who tragically passed away last month.

In a recent interview, Patoranking disclosed the deep sadness he experiences when confronted with Mohbad’s pictures on his phone, grappling with the harsh reality that the young artist will never return. The acclaimed singer admitted that coming to terms with Mohbad’s absence remains an arduous task, emphasizing that Mohbad did not deserve the fate that befell him.

Recalling a heartfelt direct message (DM) sent in April to Mohbad, where he praised the budding artist for his contributions to the music world, Patoranking revealed that Mohbad responded graciously. The celebrated artist expressed his firm belief that justice for Mohbad is of paramount importance, underscoring the need for attention to be paid to lyrical content, as potential signs may have been present.

As the industry marks one month since Mohbad’s passing, the sorrowful remembrance is marked by tears. Biola, a prominent figure, echoed sentiments of remembrance, emphasizing that Mohbad will never be forgotten. She fervently prayed for justice for the departed soul.

Contrastingly, not all expressions of grief have been well-received. Singers Rema and Oxlade faced severe criticism for what some labeled as “fake love.” Rema, in particular, received backlash after sharing a screenshot of a message from Mohbad, confessing to having ignored it in 2020. Rema expressed regret over discovering the message only after Mohbad’s demise, rendering it too late to respond.

Similarly, Oxlade faced scrutiny after revealing a neglected message from Mohbad in 2018, where the late singer praised Oxlade’s vocal prowess and professed admiration. Oxlade not only refrained from responding but had also restricted Mohbad’s account, sparking criticism from eagle-eyed netizens who accused him of perpetuating the industry’s alleged culture of insincere relationships. The incidents have sparked a broader conversation about the authenticity of connections within the music fraternity.
