On Sunday 12 February, 34 year old Barbadian singer, Rihanna during a super bowl half time show has raised speculations about being pregnant with her second child while on the stage at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona where she performed a medley of hits during the Super Bowl 2023 halftime show.
Just before the show the singer has stated that she had thought twice when invited for the performance but motherhood had inspired her to take up the challenge. She states:
I was like, ‘You sure? I’m three months postpartum. Should I be making major decisions like this right now? I might regret this.
When you become a mom, there’s something that just happens where you feel like you could take on the world — you can do anything,” she added. “And the Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world, so as scary as that was … there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all,” she said. “It’s important for my son to see that.
Rihanna had worn a bright red jumpsuit. The jumpsuit was unzipped to show off a red bodysuit underneath for the occasion, revealing a baby bump.
Her limited movement on stage and her continued rubbing of her stomach during the performance raised the suspicion of the audience. Her representative has however confirmed the validity of the speculations raised.
This is coming nine months after her first child with rapper, A$AP Rocky . This is reported to be the singers second child with him.
