Premier League CEO Richard Masters has confirmed that a date has been established for the hearing into Manchester City’s alleged 115 breaches of financial rules. The charges, dating back to February 2023, cover a period spanning nine seasons from 2009 to 2018 when the club secured three league titles.

Masters, addressing the Culture, Media, and Sport Committee, refrained from disclosing the specific date but assured that the process is underway. The allegations against Manchester City include inaccurate financial information provision, non-disclosure of managerial remuneration, and non-compliance with UEFA’s financial fair play rules over five years.

In a separate development, Everton and Nottingham Forest have also faced charges for breaching Premier League Profitability and Sustainability Rules, resulting in a 10-point deduction for Everton. Masters defended the charges, emphasizing the enforcement of financial regulations to ensure fair competition among clubs.

The hearing into Manchester City’s case marks a significant moment in the Premier League’s efforts to uphold financial integrity, with the club vehemently denying all allegations.
