American actor, Richard Gere, 73, has been hospitalised due to pneumonia. He developed the illness during a family trip to Mexico to celebrate his wife, Alejandra Silva’s 40th birthday. Nevertheless, the actor is reportedly gaining speedy recovery.
The father of three has been married to his wife, Silva, a Spanish publicist since 2008 with whom he has two kids; Alexander, 4 and a two-year-old whose name hasn’t been disclosed. Meanwhile, the third child, Homer, aged 23, who happens to be his first is the product of his previous marriage with 1990s Supermodel Cindy Crawford and Bond girl, Carey Lowell
Gere is said to have been diagnosed with a lung infection at a nearby hospital in Nuevo Vallarta, after suffering from a cough prior to the trip which deteriorated and cost him a night receiving treatment in the hospital. He has been reputedly administered some antibiotics to aid his recuperation outside of the hospital.
We hope he gets back to his feet soon enough.
