Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma has pleaded with President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government and security personnel to repatriate Simon Ekpa, a Biafra activist residing in Finland, to Nigeria.

Ekpa should be returned to Nigeria, in Uzodinma’s opinion, to either take part in the sit-at-home protests he calls for or face punishment for his crimes.

He made the call while meeting Major General Hassan Dada, the new General Officer Commanding the 82 Division, Enugu, at the Government House in Owerri.

He highlighted the need of bringing about peace and putting an end to insurgency in the Southeast.

In Gov Uzodinma’s words:

“What is topmost in our cases is this popular sit-at-home order.

“There’s one man called Simon Ekpa somewhere in Finland.

“It is our hope that the security agencies, particularly the military, working with the Federal Government, will be able to either bring Simon Ekpa back to Nigeria to also sit at home with us or be made to face the wrath of the law.”
