President Bola Tinubu will be present at South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa’s inauguration.
On Tuesday, June 18, 2024, Tinubu is scheduled to travel from Lagos to Pretoria, South Africa, according to the statement of Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Advisor to the President on Media and Publicity.
According to Ajuri Ngelale:
“President Bola Tinubu will, on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, depart Lagos for Pretoria, South Africa, to attend the inauguration of President Cyril Ramaphosa.
“The inauguration of President Ramaphosa follows his re-election as President for a second term. President Tinubu will return to Nigeria after the ceremony.”
Recall that after a coalition agreement between the ruling African National Congress (ANC) and opposition parties, South Africa’s parliament reelected Cyril Ramaphosa.
The DA, the primary opposition, Ramaphosa’s ANC, and other parties make up the new administration.
The ANC lost its stronghold in the most recent election, leading to the formation of a coalition, after dominating South Africa for thirty years since the end of apartheid.
