Austin Okai, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, has labelled Yusuf Bichi, the fired Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), as the worst to ever lead the secret police.
Okai said that former President Muhammadu Buhari’s nepotism led to Bichi’s appointment as DSS chief.
President Bola Tinubu named Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi as the new DSS DG.
Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu’s spokesperson, disclosed this:
“The new DSS Director-General, Mr. Adeola Ajayi, rose through the ranks to attain his current post of Assistant Director-General of the Service. He had, at various times, served as State Director in Bauchi, Enugu, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Kogi.
“The new appointments follow the resignation of the previous NIA and DSS chiefs.”
Reacting, Okai posted on X:
“Bichi wasn’t even supposed to be there initially, it’s Buhari nepotism that brought the man back from retirement. One of the worst @OfficialDSSNG DG.”
