Dauda Lawal, the governor of Zamfara State, has stated that his administration would continue to battle banditry.

This was stated in a statement released to journalists in Gusau, the state capital, by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris.

The Governor, who convened a security council meeting on Tuesday, was briefed by the chiefs of all the State’s security agencies.

The statement reads:

“Governor Dauda Lawal presided over the security council meeting as part of his government’s resolve to prioritize the issue of security.

“He received briefings from the heads of the security agencies on their collective efforts towards the fight against banditry.

“Governor Dauda called on the heads of the security to ensure the dislodgement of all the bandits’ camp across the State.”

He went on to say that the Zamfara government was dedicated to protecting the lives and property of the people of the state.

The Governor expressed worry to the chiefs of the State’s security agencies about bandit activity in several locations, including the Gusau-Funtua Road, Magami-Dangulbi Road, Dan Kurmi-Anka Road, and Magami-Dansadau Road.

He also directed the military and police chiefs to deploy platforms and armoured personnel carriers to continually patrol all of the impacted key highways.
