Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has appointed caretaker chairman for the state’s 23 LGA (Local Government Areas).
The governor forwarded the list to the three-member Rivers State House of Assembly, chaired by Speaker Victor Jumbo.
This comes amid a growing political crisis in the state as a result of past council chairmen’s unwillingness to quit their seats after their terms expired.
According to a statement made on Tuesday night by the Clerk of the State Assembly, G.M. Gillis-West, the Assembly invited the nominees for screening on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m.
