The Federal Government will put former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Godwin Emefiele on trial today for alleged economic sabotage.
Emefiele, whose trial was postponed almost 24 hours ago, will be arraigned in a Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja.
The ex-CBN Governor would be docked with one Ramalan Yaro, according to a notice for his trial before Justice Hamza Muazu.
A court registrar who requested anonymity stated that Emefiele would be hauled before the court this morning to enter a guilty or not guilty plea.
Similarly, one of his defence attorneys, Maxwell Opara, revealed that the former CBN Governor has been served with a summons to appear in court.
Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Matthew Burkaa, who signed an undertaking to bring the former CBN governor to trial while being granted bail by Justice Olukayode Adegbola Adeniyi of the FCT High Court, would present him in court.
