Leicester City Manager Dean Smith has revealed that Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho is expected to be out for ‘a number of weeks’ through injury.

Iheanacho was injured in the build-up to Leicester City’s late equalizer against Leeds United and is likely to be out soon.

Speaking to the media on Friday, Dean Smith said:

He’s got a tear in his adductor muscle. He’s out for a number of weeks. I’m not going to rule him out for the rest of the season, but it’s going to be tough to get him back. Hopefully we can. It’s a blow. He came on at half-time against Man City. and did ever so well. He played really well in the Wolves game as well. He scored the penalty and created chances. His all-round displays have been really good, so it’ll be a loss, but it’s an opportunity for others.”

Leicester City will face Everton in their next Premier League game on Monday without Senior man Kels, as his teammates fondly call him.

Onyinye Ndidi is available for selection as the Foxes continue their battle to avoid relegation.
