The Spanish national team won the Euro 2024 title on Sunday night, defeating England’s Three Lions 2-1.
Mikel Oyarzabal’s 86th-minute goal gave Spain a record fourth title.
Nico Williams had put Spain ahead in the second half at Berlin, Germany, but Cole Palmer equalised for England.
Meanwhile, Dani Olmo foiled Marc Guehi’s last-minute attempt to equalise for the Three Lions, securing the trophy for the Spanish squad.
They had previously won in 1964, 2008, and 2012, with the latest two victories coming on the heels of their victory in the 2010 World Cup, which was won by Xavi Hernandez, Xabi Alonso, and Andres Iniesta during their peak years.
England’s failure to win the Euro 2024 cup made them the first team to lose back-to-back Euros finals, having fallen to Italy on penalties three years earlier.
Since winning the World Cup in 1966, the English national team has yet to win another international championship.
